Superintendent's Message

  • Daniel Ward, Superintendent

Dear Tiger Family,

Welcome to the Hudson Falls School District. It is my privilege and honor to serve as your Superintendent and to work alongside such a dedicated community of educators, families, and students.

Our “Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow” campaign will remain a cornerstone principle of our mission, vision, and values. Attendance makes student success possible and remains the key ingredient to your child’s future success. No student should miss out on all the opportunities offered, allowing them to grow and reach their potential.

As we shift our focus to this academic year, we look forward to fully implementing our strategic plan through the development of building-specific objectives and strengthening our shared focus that includes high standards and expectations for all students. At the elementary buildings, a strong focus will be placed on systematic phonics and literacy instruction.  These efforts are always aimed at increasing the percentage of students reading on or above grade level. Middle school students will continue to develop their understanding of how project-based learning enhances their communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. High school students will continue to see a curriculum that aligns with the goal of graduation and civic readiness. Building goals align with our district's mission of creating engaged, lifelong learners.

We recognize the importance of high levels of communication and will continue to build upon clear and consistent practices across all buildings. ParentSquare, our school communications platform, enables seamless communication between the community and the school. Because relationships and communication are the foundation of your child’s success, should you ever need to contact my office with questions or concerns, please do not hesitate.

Each year brings new opportunities and challenges, and as a district, we want to foster a climate of trust through shared responsibilities and partnership.

Sincerely,

Daniel Ward, Superintendent of Schools
