SAT/ACT and Study Skills

SAT/ACT

The SAT and ACT are two college entrance exams that are required by many four year colleges and universities.  The purpose of both tests are to measure a students college readiness.

How to Sign Up: Students can sign up for both tests online.  Students will need to make a FREE login name and registration for the exams requires a credit card.

What to Bring:

On the day of the test there are many things that students need to bring in order to take the test.

  • Admission Ticket
  • Photo ID
  • Two #2 Pencils
  • Calculator (Scientific, graphing, or Four-Function)

Not happy with your score? Students are encouraged to take either the SAT or the ACT twice.  The first time in their Junior year, and a second time in the Fall of Senior year. Also check out Fairtest.org for a list of colleges and universities that do not require applicants to submit standardized test scores.
