Unit 2: Age of Reason / Enlightenment
Following on the heals of the Renaissance, the Enlightenment is an intellectual movement that stressed reason, thought, and the power of individuals to solve problems. Using new inventions and discoveries together with the scientific method, men attempt to rid the world of ignorance and superstition with the goal of improving the quality of life for all of mankind.
