Can you

Spare a Dime?

Does the government bear the responsibility of trying to stabilize the economy and the financial system, as well as of assisting people affected by economic downturns?

In order to answer this question you should gain an understanding of the causes of an economic downturn are, empathize with the experience of the people experiencing the troubles that exist in such a downturn, and analyze the positive and negative consequences of government involvement in our economy and our lives.  Then you may determine your beliefs toward the role and purpose of government.
