Despite the chilly temperatures this week, things are heating up across the district as we reach some exciting milestones. Our secondary students have officially wrapped up the second quarter, successfully navigating a demanding week of Regents exams and midterms.
With the books closed for the week, the district is shifting gears to celebrate our school community with a packed Friday night schedule. The Tiger Trackers Booster Club is hosting a "Green Carpet event" prior to the Boys Varsity Basketball game against Broadalbin-Perth. Over at the Middle School, our 7th and 8th graders will be celebrating their own milestone at the "Snowflake Shake" semi-formal.
Varsity Reads
Members of our varsity winter sports visited the Kindergarten Center and Primary School to read to the students and answer any questions!Thank you to these students for taking time out of their busy schedules during testing week to give back to the Tiger community and serve as role models for our young Tigers. You can view images of Varsity Reads across our social media platforms.
Vex Competitions
Our Middle and High School Vex Robotics teams showcased incredible skill and innovation during a busy weekend of competition. Our High School students traveled to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) to put their engineering to the test, while our Middle School teams competed at the inaugural Capital Region Classic held at the Albany Capital Center. We are thrilled to announce that Middle School Team 12839C, also known as Ctrl+Claws, earned a prestigious invitation to the VEX IQ New York State Championship in Syracuse on Wednesday, March 4!
This was a milestone event for our program, and you can even catch a glimpse of our talented students in action via this news segment from News10 ABC, which highlights the excitement and high-tech challenges of the weekend. Please join us in congratulating all of our competitors and wishing the Ctrl+Claws the best of luck at States!
Mark your calendars for the inaugural VEX IQ, Cupid's Classic, on Saturday, February 14 at the High School. Doors will open for matches starting at 9:00 a.m.
