This year we will not be able to host our traditional summer success program at the Primary School. All schools in the state are not able to provide summer instruction to students within buildings. To continue to support the learning and needs of our students, we will offer an on-line Summer Success program to our students who are currently enrolled in kindergarten through grade 5. The program will run mornings during the weeks of July 6th – July 30th (Monday – Thursday). The students will be required to complete work Monday – Thursday during the dates the program meets. Students will meet with the teacher on-line two days a week and have work assigned and submitted on the other two days.
With changing the program to meet the needs of our current situation, we will identify students to participate in the program in two ways:
- Teacher recommendation- Teachers will identify students who need academic support to meet grade-level learning standards. Students also need to have had moderate participation during on-line learning during the closure. Your child’s teacher will contact you if they are recommending your child.
- Parent recommendation- Parents can recommend that their child participates in the program. Students who are recommended need to have had moderate participation during on-line learning during the closure. The program administrator will verify with classroom teachers that your child had moderate participation during the school closure before they are enrolled in the program.
