Under the direction of Governor Hochul, all schools in NYS will be required to implement a bell-to-bell internet-enabled device-free policy. This means that students will not be permitted to use internet-enabled devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, or any other device capable of connecting to the internet during the school day while on school grounds.
Beginning in September, the middle and high school will implement the use of Yondr pouches. Yondr is a secure system that allows students to maintain possession of their phones while ensuring they are not a distraction during instructional time. In our elementary buildings, phones will be off and away for the duration of the school day.
More details can be found here.

School attendance is both a right and a responsibility. Our district is an active partner with students and parents to ensure all students meet or exceed the New York State Learning Standards.
Consistent attendance, academic success, and receiving a diploma are all directly related. Our Comprehensive Student Attendance Policy is developed and revised as needed to support your student along that path to success. The policy’s objective is to:
- Increase school completion for all students.
- Raise student achievement and close gaps in student performance.
- Identify attendance patterns in order to design attendance improvement efforts.
- Know the whereabouts of every student for safety and other reasons.
- Verify that individual students are complying with education laws relating to compulsory attendance.

The mission of the Hudson Falls School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmentally age-appropriate, and sequential school counseling program designed to foster student achievement and school improvement. Click here for the counseling office page.
Every student will acquire the academic, career, and personal skills to reach their highest educational potential, having the ability to successfully manage their lives as healthy, responsible, competent, and productive citizens who respect themselves and others.
A comprehensive school counseling program is an integral component of the total education experience. It provides educational opportunities for intellectual development, effective communication, personal growth, and social responsibility.
The school counselors work in partnership with students, staff, parents, community members, institutions of higher learning, and employers. These efforts are geared toward preparing students to become effective learners, to achieve success in school, to live successful and rewarding lives, and to become positive contributors to our society.
