I hope all of our students enjoyed a day off while our staff remained busy on campus, engaging in a productive full day of professional development.
We want to provide an important update for our elementary families regarding Parent-Teacher Conferences, which are set to take place next week from Tuesday, March 17, through Friday, March 20. During this period, all students in UPK through Grade 5 will be dismissed on a half-day schedule. Please reach out to your child’s specific school building if you need to confirm scheduling details or appointment times.
Battle of the Books
Our Hudson Falls students demonstrated their impressive literary expertise this past Tuesday, March 10, during the annual Battle of the Books event held at SUNY Adirondack. This competition served as the exciting finale to months of dedicated effort; beginning back in September, participants from grades 3 through 6 committed to mastering nine specific books while training consistently with their teammates.
We couldn't be prouder of the spirit and skill displayed by every one of our "Tiger Teams." We want to give a special round of applause to our 4th and 6th-grade squads, both of whom successfully fought their way into the semi-final round. A huge congratulations to all our young readers for their hard work and for representing Hudson Falls so remarkably well.
A Steady Hand
We have one final state send-off to celebrate! Huge congratulations and the best of luck to Ava Steady as she travels to Syracuse for the New York State Bowling Championships. Representing Hudson Falls as a member of the Section 2 girls' team, Ava secured her place in the tournament following a standout performance at the sectional championships earlier this month. We are so proud of her achievements! Go Ava, and good luck to the entire Section 2 team!
Bald for a Cause
The high school’s annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser is officially underway! Students can support the cause by purchasing t-shirts, wristbands, and other branded gear during lunch periods. For those brave enough to "Rock the Bald" this year, permission forms are currently available in the Care Center. Families and community members who wish to contribute to our fundraising goal can also make a donation online through our official event page:https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/hudsonfalls2026.
In an exciting twist this year, No Place For Hate is collaborating with the Student Council on a unique challenge to benefit St. Baldrick’s. They are selling lengths of duct tape for $1.00 each, with the ultimate goal of securing enough tape to fasten Mr. Prendergast to the wall! Be sure to visit the St. Baldrick’s table during lunch to buy a few strips and help make it happen.
At its heart, St. Baldrick’s is a mission to Conquer Kids’ Cancer, and we are proud to support such a vital cause. The main event is scheduled for next Friday, March 20, and will take place at the high school during 4th block.
