Thank you to the Music Department for another fantastic round of concerts. Music and the arts remain an important part of our educational offerings, and we encourage any interested students to explore band, orchestra, or choir. Students may begin with orchestra instruments in the fourth grade, and band instruments are offered beginning in fifth grade.
Please Return Library Books
Important reminder- students need to return all library books back to their respective library as soon as possible. It may seem early, but returning books now helps our librarians avoid the last-minute rush and ensures everything is ready for next year. And remember, there are no late fees!
Honoring Academic Excellence
This past Wednesday at the high school, some exceptional students were recognized at an assembly for honor graduates, junior awards, and scholarships. An honor graduate is a high school senior who has maintained an overall average of 90% or higher for the entirety of their high school career. Many juniors were also rewarded with scholarships and special awards totaling over 2.8 million dollars. It was a great evening that celebrated the academic success at the high school.
Honoring Athletic Excellence
On Thursday, June 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium, the Athletic Department and Varsity Club will host an awards night to recognize varsity athletes and teams, as well as highlight postseason recognitions. Scholar-athlete teams and college-bound athletes will also be recognized. This awards ceremony is for all varsity athletes. It will take place before the Senior Sports Banquet, which will be for seniors and their families with tickets. The banquet will be held in the gymnasium immediately following the Varsity Club awards.
So far from the Spring season we would like to acknowledge softball's Lainey Dunbar, who was named a Foothills Section 2 all-star as a pitcher and second baseman. Her teammates Payton Linehan and Marion Winter were also named to the Foothills council first-team. In Track and Field, senior Clare Gauici was the Foothills Champion in the Pentathlon. Junior Brynn Terry was the Section 2 Class B triple jump champion and will represent Hudson Falls at the NYSPHSAA Track and Field Championships next week in Rochester.
