Bus Proposition Also Approved
May 20, 2025 – Hudson Falls, N.Y. – On Tuesday, May 20 Hudson Falls residents approved the district’s $57,299,699 million budget for the 2025-26 school year by a vote of 335 to 154. The results show 68.5 % of voters supported the budget.
The approved budget has a growth of 5.03%, with a tax levy increase of 1.9% Our spending in the 25-26 school year focuses on maintaining current programs and electives with a new literacy program for grades UPK through 8. Additionally $100,000 capital outlay project is included to increase school security that will be New York State aid-able.
“The successful passing of the budget by Hudson Falls CSD voters is a testament to our community’s support for providing all our students an opportunity to learn and grow,” said Superintendent Dan Ward. “On behalf of the Board of Education, administration, faculty, staff, and students I would like to provide my sincerest thanks to our voters for their support.”
By a vote of 344 to 148, voters passed a $760,000 proposition to purchase four 66 passenger school buses and one 30 passenger school bus. These bus purchases will help ensure fleet stability and replace older buses that have become costly to run due to frequent maintenance needs.
Voters elected both Amanda Landsman and Samantha Melucci to serve on the Board of Education for five-year terms.
Mrs. Landsman ran unopposed and was elected to her second full term. Mrs. Melucci defeated Adriana Strong by a vote of 352 to 118 for the seat being vacated by Timothy Keenan, who did not seek re-election.
