Mask mandate still in effect for schools 1/25

TIGER FAMILY:

As the COVID pandemic keeps evolving, we are responding to new developments involving the statewide mask mandate.

This afternoon, a NYS Appellate Court judge ordered that the NYS Department of Health Commissioner’s Determination on Indoor Masking is to remain in place until at least this Friday, January 28, 2022.

Therefore all students, faculty, staff, and visitors must remain masked while in school buildings and on school transportation until further notice.

Additional legal arguments are being presented on Friday.  Should those legal proceedings result in changes to the mask requirements for schools, we will update you as soon as possible.

Needless to say, this has been a rather challenging 24 hours for students, parents, and our staff alike and we are grateful for everyone’s patience. Just like you, we’re hopeful the recent statewide trend of fewer positive cases continues, and that fewer cases translates to fewer restrictions.

Stay safe, and thank you in advance for your continued cooperation.

Sincerely,

Daniel Ward
Superintendent of Schools
Hudson Falls CSD
