Talking HF Tigers 1/13

It’s worth pointing out it takes a community to build a better future. Progress is visible all over the district from attendance improvements to capital project construction. As we head into a three day weekend in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Monday, January 16, let’s revisit where we are all at with our dreams.

Capital Project

One of the dreams for the Board of Education and the district as a whole, is being realized right in front of our eyes. At the high school, the library and auditorium renovations are now well underway and while the historical look of these spaces has been demolished, the excitement for their new construction and use grows. Renovations with the high school restrooms have also begun as we take it one bathroom at a time. This has ensured appropriate access for students throughout the building. Front entrance work for the secure vestibules at the MS and HS continues to move us closer to the improved facilities and educational spaces for our students, staff and community.

Winter Sports

Winter athletes are now more than halfway through their seasons and it has been a great source of #HFTigerPride seeing the student- athletes hard at work after school in practice, or competing on the court, mat, track and in the pool.  For all sports schedules be sure to visit our athletics page on the website. A special thank you to our seniors for their dedication and commitment to being a Tiger in their given sports and showcasing their talents. Thank You “Chief”

I wanted to take a minute and offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Earl “Chief” MacDuff Jr. who passed away unexpectedly over the holiday break. Chief was a member of our school community for over 30 years as a crossing guard.  He started and ended the day for generations of Hudson Falls students. A naval veteran and member of the Hudson Falls Police Department, as a school crossing guard, Chief dedicated his life to service for others. His shoes will be difficult to fill. We appreciate everyone’s patience as the Village of Hudson Falls works to fill the crossing guard position. The crossing guard position is hired by the Village and anyone interested in continuing the legacy of Chief as the next crossing guard should visit this posting from the Village.

Thank you Chief!

Dan Ward, Superintendent
