Talking HF Tigers 10/10

It has been a fun week to be a Tiger as Homecoming festivities took place all week long culminating in Friday’s energetic Pep Rally. I wish all Homecoming dance attendees a safe and fun evening tonight, and hope to see everyone out at the Homecoming football game on Saturday, kicking off at noon. A quick reminder, there will be no school on Monday, October 13 as we observe Indigenous Peoples’ and Columbus day. I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend.

Spirit Week At The Middle School

Homecoming wrapped at the high school but this coming week it is the middle school’s turn to display Tiger pride. Students will have spirit days and will compete for the Tiger Spirit award at Friday’s pep rally at the middle school. The middle school will also have a dance Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased throughout the week.

Here are the Spirit Week theme days for next week!

  • Tuesday – Red, White and Blue Day
  • Wednesday – Color Wars: Plattsburgh-Pink, Geneseo-Blue, Oswego-Yellow,

Oneonta-Orange, Cortland-Red, Potsdam-Purple

  • Thursday Role Reversal (Students dress like a teacher, teachers dress like students)
  • Friday – Green and White Day for pep rally

Fire Safety

The Primary and Intermediate Schools learned about fire safety this week. Members from the Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company and the Hudson Falls Volunteer Fire Department led important discussions with our students about how to respond to emergency situations involving smoke and fire. These presentations encouraged students to have a conversation at home with their families about what the household plan is for evacuation, a meeting place outside the home in the event of an evacuation, and making sure smoke detectors are being regularly checked. Please take a minute to have these conversations with your children and thank you to our local fire departments for assisting in fire safety education.
