Last week was School Board Appreciation Week. Please join me in thanking Mrs. Andrejkovics, Mrs. Borlang, Mr. Canini, Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr. Gaulin, Mrs. Grimaldi, Mrs. Landsman, Mrs. Melucci, and Dr. Steele for their commitment to education and everything they do for our entire school community.
Crunch!
On Thursday, October 23, students from the Kindergarten Center to the High School took a bite out of a fresh, New York-grown apple during the #BigAppleCrunch!
The event, sponsored by the FarmOn Foundation and the NYSED Child Nutrition office, is held each October to highlight the importance of local agriculture and family farms. It was a delicious way to bring our school community together! A special thanks to our Nutrition Services for organizing and putting it together!
Parade Route
We will be celebrating Halloween at the Primary School on Friday, October 31, with an outside parade. Spectators are welcome. The parade will start at 10:00 a.m., outside the first-grade wing at the back of the building, and travel along the side of the school by the gym. The students will re-enter the building through the front doors. The parade will be canceled if it is raining.
Highlighting Excellence
The Hudson Falls Central School District and the Sandy Hill Chapter of the National Honor Society will hold its twenty-third annual Wall of Distinction and National Honor Society induction ceremony on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in the high school auditorium. Honoring student achievement is a highlight for every educator, and welcoming new NHS and Wall of Distinction members is a testament to student success, both past and present.
The Wall of Distinction’s intent is to establish a tradition that honors highly successful graduates who have gone on to distinguished careers in various fields or who have become role models in the community. The Wall also demonstrates to students and the community the caliber of students produced by the Hudson Falls School District. The Wall of Distinction provides inspiration and motivation for students to excel.
Wall of Distinction inductees for 2025 include:
- Nicholas D. Mead, ’98, Business Owner, Mead Lumber Co. Inc.
- Bill Nikas, ’68, Attorney
- Lee E. Townsend, ’68, Teacher
