Talking HF Tigers 2/2

It is hard to believe February has arrived, but many exciting things are happening across the district. Students have reached the halfway point in the classroom, enriched by school dances, musical productions and clubs that have students engaged in a variety of activities. As a reminder, February also brings our mid-winter recess. There will be no school from Monday, February 19 through  Friday, February 23.

Traveling Tiger Talent

Next week our gifted Choralier Tigers will perform for the Adirondack Area School Board Association at the Queensbury Hotel on February 8. I look forward to enjoying their performance with neighboring area members and thank them for taking time to share their vocal talents.

Navigating the Financial Aid Process

On Wednesday, February 7, a representative from the Financial Aid office from SUNY Adirondack will be at the High School in the Library from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to help families complete the FAFSA for any students who are attending college in the fall. Please make sure both the student and parents/guardians have created their FAFSA ID.

Please also know that the FAFSA process is all new this year and may require both parents/guardians to create ID’s. If you have not done so please do so ASAP at the following website: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch. Please check out this link for information on some of the new changes to the FAFSA: https://studentaid.gov/articles/things-you-need-for-fafsa/.

Community Sharing

As a school district we often share information from community partners that take place within our area that have a direct benefit to our students and families. HFCSD also provides facilities usage and other resources for outside organizations to further benefit our school community. As a reminder these organizations are not affiliated with the district and any questions should be directed to them specifically.
