Talking Tigers 10-22

Hello Tiger Family,

It is hard to believe, but I have been your school leader for nearly 100 days. I am so proud of the way we have launched a new school year; put together a vision for the district’s future; and have overcome the challenges of providing the best education possible in our continued COVID-19 environment.

First up, for this week’s Talking Tigers, we have launched another Thoughtexchange. My question to our students, parents, staff, and community members is, what do you see are our strengths and opportunities as a district? These may be tangible things, such as our award-winning theater arts program, or our awesome science and enrichment programs for our elementary students.

To participate, click the link or visit our website. We hope you’ll take a moment over the next week to share your thoughts, as well as “star” the thoughts of your community members.

Next up, we have dozens of mental health supports available on our website through the Health and Wellness subsite, but they can now also be found on our website’s Quick Links. I encourage you to visit the page to see there are supports that could be helpful to you and your family.

Lastly, next week will see Halloween celebrated in many of our classrooms. Please check with your child’s teacher to find out details for school-specific celebrations or observances to ensure we have a safe and spooky Halloween.

Sincerely,

Dan Ward, Superintendent
