A go-ahead goal against an arch-rival and heads-up play leads to Athlete of the week nominations this week!
First up is Senior Varsity Soccer Captain Olivia Lewis. She led the team by scoring the go-ahead goal in the 12th minute of the Girls Varsity Soccer game at Glens Falls.
Head Coach Nick Richards said Glens Falls managed to tie the game with four minutes remaining, and it ended 1-1 after double overtime.
“Olivia’s goal and a solid team effort helped earn the team their first point of the season,” said Richards.
Next up is sophomore lineman Evan Kwasniewski. Evan plays on both sides of the football for the varsity squad.
“He has rapidly improved as sophomore starter on both offence and defence because of his intelligence and internal drive,” said head coach Bill Strong. “To top it all off, he is extremely humble and hard working.”
Coach Strong said off the field, Even is an above average student who does extremely well in the classroom.
