Message from The Board of Education President

Dear Hudson Falls School Community,

On behalf of the HFCSD Board of Education, we welcome you to the start of the 2022-2023 school year!

I’m hoping you all had a great summer but now it’s time to get back to work. The atmosphere in the room during Superintendent’s Day was amazing. To say that we’re excited about having our students back in school, is an understatement.

The Board, which I have the privilege of representing as President, works hand-in-hand with the Superintendent and the administration to ensure we never lose focus on our district’s short- and long-term goals. The BOE and district employees continually strive to assure the highest level of quality education, academically, vocationally, and socially to all students. We strive to exceed our goals and the vision for our district.

Mr. Ward has worked diligently over the summer with the administrative team and the BOE to restructure leadership positions, as well as recruit and hire several new team members for our Tiger Community. A portion of this recruitment and hiring will support and boost some of our current programming as well as some new instructional initiatives and programs. All of these changes and additions will enhance, support, and foster the development of our students academically, socially and emotionally.

With that being said, I ask that each and every one of you please be patient for the next few weeks of school as we iron out these little quirks and adjustments. I can assure you that our staff will be available to answer any questions/concerns you may have or be able to send you in the right direction, in order to get those concerns/issues answered.

As we leave the past few years in the dust, I have some exciting information to pass along …NYSED/NYSDOH/CDC has changed COVID Operational Guidance(s) to give school districts more flexibility. I have attached the link to view all the current updated changes: www.nysed.gov/back-school/health-and-safety .

Our Capital Project phase one is moving forward as planned. The fall sports season has officially started and we are back in full swing, so please come out and support all of our student athletes. I’m happy to say that the district has partnered with the Village of Hudson Falls, making it possible for our student athletes and recreation programs to have the opportunity to use the newly renovated HG Moran Derby Park. It will be awesome seeing our student athletes utilizing the facilities and playing games under the lights! How exciting is that!! Please take advantage of all of these great community relationships and join us in supporting all of these new community initiatives.

In closing, please remember as we move forward into a new school year, it is of utmost importance to have your students present in school every day. In order to provide your students with the best education possible, their attendance matters.

ATTEND TODAY/ACHIEVE TOMORROW! Your commitment and cooperation to our students matters. GO TIGERS!!!!
