HFCSD Board of Education Seeks Community Input in Superintendent Search

Dear School Community Member,

As you may know, the Hudson Falls Central School District Board of Education has initiated a search for a new Superintendent of Schools.  As part of the search, the Board plans to include district stakeholders throughout the process. In addition to the recently announced survey, the Board looks to involve district stakeholders in multiple aspects of the search process.

The Board has enlisted James Dexter, District Superintendent, Sole Supervisory District of Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex Counties, to work with the Board to coordinate a thorough and comprehensive search process. As part of the search process, the Board will host a Virtual Community Forum on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM to fully define the characteristics the district seeks in a new superintendent. We encourage parents, staff, students, and community members to participate. In order to receive the link to attend, please register with Linda Roche at lroche@wswheboces.org or call (518) 746-3357 with your name, telephone number, and email address. Also, please indicate which stakeholder group you will be representing – parents, staff, students, or community members. Reservations must be received by November 13. All registered attendees will receive a link prior to the forum.

For those of you who may be unable to attend the Community Forum, please note that we have released an online survey, which will be open through November 6 to begin the process of obtaining feedback regarding the qualities, experience, and skill set that our next school district leader should possess. The survey is currently available on the Hudson Falls website.

For your information, we anticipate advertising for the position of superintendent in December and plan to screen applicants in late winter/early spring. As part of the process, we will seek stakeholder participation on Advisory Committees. Our goal is that the new superintendent will commence employment with the district on July 1, 2021.

We will keep you up to date as the search progresses and look forward to collaborating with you on this important work.

Regards,

Benjamin Bishop, Board of Education President
