Opening Day Letter to Parents

 September 11, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you and your children have had an enjoyable summer and are ready for another successful school year.  I am sure that your children have missed their teachers and are looking forward to seeing their friends again, whether that is In-Person or through our Virtual Academy.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself; I am John Godfrey and will be serving as Interim Principal until January 1st.  I am excited to be here as I have heard wonderful things about our Middle School staff and students!  I felt a sense of pride when I walked into this building and quickly noticed that everyone here is willing to help out.

Although this year will be a little different for all of us, I can assure you that all of our teachers and staff have been working very hard this summer in preparation for another great year.  We are looking forward to seeing our students and are ready to do some wonderful things in the classrooms!

The district has done an excellent job in planning and putting into place safety measures and practices.  Changes have been made on the buses, in the classrooms, and in the hallways.  It is our main priority to provide a healthy and safe atmosphere while here in school.

There are a few resources that may be helpful.  We have a Welcome Back Video for our 6th graders and an Informational Video for all students and parents grades 6-8.  Both are posted on our Middle School website.  Hope you have a nice weekend and we are looking forward to a wonderful start to the school year!

Sincerely,

Mr. Godfrey
