Talking HF Tigers 10/21

Our Tiger Spirit was in full swing – and full color – throughout the week.

From students and staff decked out in pink to raise awareness about breast cancer to class color themes of black, gray, blue and red to the green and white that capped off the week, our pride and energy was on full display.

What is the best opportunity to all show our collective #TeamTiger spirit? Attend the Homecoming football game Saturday when we host Cohoes. Game time is 1:30 p.m. I look forward to seeing you all there to support our Tigers.

The Autumn/Homecoming Semi-Formal is back! All students in grades 9-12 will have an opportunity to attend from 7-10 p.m. Saturday. Post your photos with #HFTigerHomecoming22 so we can all share in seeing our students dressed up and having a fun & safe evening to conclude the spirited 2022 Homecoming week.

Got Trunks? Yes We Do – Our Community Always Steps Up!

We are so grateful for the response we received for our District’s Trunk or Treat event.

Over 30 families and community organizations have signed up to provide candy to trick or treaters Oct. 29. The event is from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the Franklin Street side of the high school.

The family fun will continue after the trunk or treat event:

  • The district will provide lunch from 12:00-12:30 p.m.;
  • Various family activities will be set up for children to participate in from 12:00-12:45 p.m.
  • Admission to the Hudson Falls Football game will be provided to one adult and one child free of charge.  The game starts at 1:30 pm.  Children who attend the game can participate in the half-time costume parade.

This is planned to be an annual activity, and thanks to our supportive community it has a great start. Thank you!

Costumes for a Cause

No Place for Hate and HFMS Character Education Committee is sponsoring “Costumes for Cause on Mon., Oct. 31. Those in the Middle School who want to participate (no masks!) can make a donation in the office. Donations will be made to a variety of local charities that support the Hudson Falls community.

Primary School Fun: Part 1 – This Monday is Family Reading Night

The Primary School’s action-packed Family Reading Night is this Mon., Oct. 24 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  Many activities are planned and it promises to be a memorable event.

Even if your student is younger or older than primary school age, I encourage family reading time – anytime. Visit the Hudson Falls Free Library calendar of events and make plans to participate.

Primary School Fun: Part 2Get Parade Ready

The Primary School will celebrate Halloween Mon., Oct. 31 with an outside parade starting at 10:00 a.m. Parents, please send your child to school with an appropriate costume to change into for the parade. Your child needs to be able to get into and out of the costume independently and quickly. Costumes that are worn in school should not contain a mask or impair the child’s vision.  Costumes should also not contain any type of weapon or contain parts that could potentially hurt a child. The parade will be canceled if it is raining so let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates so students get to participate in this festive event!

Have a great Homecoming weekend,

Dan Ward, Superintendent
