Talking HF Tigers 10-29

Hello Tiger Family,

We understand this year has been a difficult one for our students, as we do our best to keep everyone in school 100% of the time. We continue to advocate with our county and state health partners for safe changes to quarantine rules, and alternatives to quarantine such as “test to stay,” or “test out.” While no changes to those rules have occurred, we will continue to work closely with the Washington County Department of Health to allow more of our students to attend school each and every day.

While we do our best to keep everyone in school safely, if your child has any COVID-19 symptoms, even mild ones, please keep them home. We’ve got a list of COVID-19 symptoms on our website. According to the Washington County Health Department, many new cases continue to arise out of contact with symptomatic persons and contact in public areas without the use of masks. Doing your part helps keep more of our students learning and in school. If you need to find a COVID-19 testing site, check out the state’s test site finder. If we cannot reduce the number of positive cases in our district, our in-person classes and activities could be at risk of cancelation.

Before we go, I wanted to call out the great effort of a group of our baseball players over the weekend. A group of nine boys worked this weekend cleaning up the little league fields that have gone unused for two pandemic-canceled seasons. The kindness and selflessness of these young men are something that we can all learn from. You can read more about them on our website here.

Sincerely,
Dan Ward, Superintendent
