Talking HF Tigers 10/7

I hope your family is enjoying the start of the three-day weekend. A break from routine is often just what we need to recharge and be ready for the next round of our 2022-23 school year journey together. And we certainly have a lot to look forward to. I am excited to share with you a few headlines below in this issue of Talking Tigers some information about a new district-sponsored event that will bring us all together and build our Tiger spirit and pride!

Teachers in the Classroom as Learners

Superintendent’s Conference Day Oct. 7, our faculty is “in the classroom” as students themselves, working in their building teams and individually so they can better support your student’s success.

We will all be off Monday, Oct. 10 in observance of the federal holiday. I look forward to us all returning Tuesday, Oct. 11. Remember Tigers … Attend Today – Achieve Tomorrow!

Middle School Spirit Week Oct. 11-14

Our No Place For Hate and HFMS Character Education Committee are sponsoring Spirit Week Oct. 11-14. Middle school students and staff will be showing their school spirit by dressing in the theme for each day: Tuesday, Tie Dye Day; Wednesday, Color WAR; Thursday, Twin Day; and Friday, Green & White Day. And to close out the week, a pep rally will be held!

Stay tuned for next week’s Talking Tiger and the high school spirit week schedule that will lead us all to Homecoming Oct. 22.

Families & Organizations Sought! Sponsor Our District Trunk or Treat!

HFCSD is hosting a Trunk or Treat event Saturday, Oct. 29 on the Franklin Street side of the high school. We are looking for families and organizations that would like to participate in the event to decorate a trunk. Each participant will provide their own candy or goodies for children who are trick or treating. Prizes will be awarded for the favorite decorated trunk.

We are asking for those who are planning to decorate a trunk for the event to sign up by Friday, Oct. 21. Please use this form to receive communications about the event.
