Talking HF Tigers 11/4

Hello Tiger Families,

A very important and time-honored tradition is happening this weekend. It is with intent that we jointly hold our National Honor Society and Wall of Distinction induction ceremonies. This shared time for both ceremonies is a wonderful blending of current student academic success and our alumni returning to be recognized for the accomplishments and contributions they have made.

Which I would like to point out is in direct alignment with our District’s mission:

We exist to create opportunities for students to become confident, lifelong learners and successful, engaged members of the larger Tiger community.

For all students, we believe supportive relationships, broad opportunities, and high expectations pave the way for each individual to grow, reach their potential, and fulfill their purpose.

My advance congratulations to our NHS and Wall of Distinction honorees, their families, friends and the greater community that all benefit from their efforts.

2022 Wall of Distinction inductees are:

Marc Cerro: Class of 1993 – Google/Fit Bit

Todd McIntosh: Class of 1991 – U.S. Marine Corps

Joseph Melucci: Class of 1989 – Banking Executive

Linda Shaw-Marzialo: Class of 1971 – Architect

Laurie Trombley: Class of 1991 – Marketing, National Media

Don Hassett (Posthumously): Class of 1948 – Engineer GE

There will be an unveiling at 2:15 p.m. followed immediately by a reception for the inductees in the cafeteria.

Emergency Release Day/Veterans Day

The annual “Emergency Release Day” drill will be held Thursday, Nov. 10. Expect your child to arrive home or be picked up 15 minutes early.

There will be no classes Friday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

Participate in Our Thought Exchange

Last year we launched our “Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow” campaign to help address attendance issues in our district. We ran two Thought Exchanges prior to the launch: 1) addressing barriers to attendance, and 2) to students seeking incentives to improve attendance. This new Thought Exchange is to the Hudson Falls community as a whole asking what they can do to support this initiative. Hudson Falls is a community that cares and we know that this caring community has some ideas and support to add to our efforts.

If you are unfamiliar with what Thought Exchange is or how it works, it is very simple. Use the link provided to share your thoughts. We then ask that you rate the thoughts of others as it relates to this question: What are some ways the community can rally behind better school attendance?

Thanks to this wonderful community we are all working together to maintain that #HFTigerPride.

Let’s Go Tigers

Speaking of #HFTigerPride, our Girls Volleyball team will compete for a Section 2 title this Saturday when they square off against Ichabod Crane in the Class B Final at 5 p.m. at Saratoga High School. Wishing our Tigers the best of luck and hoping they can continue on with this already great season.

Have a great weekend,
